Artie had taken part of his afternoon to persuade his parents to take him to Breadsticks. Not because he had anyone to meet there, but because he didn't want to be around his parents. It was close to Valentines Day and they were being all googly eyes at each other. So he told them the New Directions were doing a whole big thing there. Just to celebrate some nonexistent thing he just made up on the top of his head.
So when his mother insisted on opening the door for him, he rolled in, shooed her away and watched her hop back in the car. She waved to him and drove off, when he couldn't' see her car anymore he rolled to the front and asked for a table for one.
Now yeah he was eating alone, but it was all you can eat breadsticks and no parents. It was good life, he even brought a couple songs to look over to sing in Glee the next day. He was thinking about doing a whole Eminem and My Chemical Romance collaboration thing. It just sounded like it'd be slightly entertaining to sing and for the rest of them to hear. But he wasn't positive he could pull it off on his own. If not, he'll ask the guys to go along with it. Then again, they would probably think it was a dumb idea.
Though as he made it to the table and told the host thank you, he took out his binder with the two songs in it and began working on a good collaboration for the two. He hoped it'd come out good, but if not he'd just have to say screw it and not do the song.

Valentine's Day, or Single's Awareness Day, was best spent in the company of a hot guy, right? That was what Kirsten had thought originally- but then she had met her blind date. The guy was a complete jerk, talking more to her chest than her, and Kirsten rested her hand on her chin and pretended to be interested as he droned on and on about the football team's latest play (or something, she had stopped paying attention a while back and was instead playing with her straw.) She should have known the minute Tillie had mentioned it that something was wrong with the guy- she had talked him up waaaay too much for it to be a legitimate good catch. She couldn't really be mad at Tillie, however. The girl was only capable of good intentions it seemed, but Kirsten didn't know why her dating life was Tillie's main focus. Kirsten would find the right person when it was meant to happen- end of story. This.... this wasn't the right person. "Order us another drink, babe. I'll be right back." Kirsten blinked, watching the guy- Kyle, she vaguely remembered- head toward the men's room. With a sigh, she sat back against the booth and looked around the restaurant. She saw a few people she knew from school, and a few more that she had rendered her "services" to, but nobody she could crash and be okay with it. Mostly, it was couples- all but her. And.... him. She didn't know the kid personally, but he was on the football team with her cousin and also in the glee club with him. Kirsten herself wasn't in any sort of clubs or sports. She wasn't that physically coordinated, and she didn't think she could sing in front others without being completely mortified. Curiously, he was alone amidst all the other couples as well, and she couldn't help but wonder why. Kirsten was a lot of things, but she wasn't shy, and not seeing her date anywhere in the vicinity, she got to her feet and went over to his table, a small, flirty smile on her lips. She was wearing a red dress and flats with a black sweater covering the fact it was a spaghetti strap. Her long blond hair was down and straight, framing her heart shaped face. "Mind if I join you? My date's not going so well." She laughed unselfconsciously, offering her hand. "I'm Kirsten. I think you're friends with my cousin, Puck?" Outfit: www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=28297252
