Emma had started eating lunch earlier than usual, mostly in an attempt to avoid Will. Things between the two were tense, to say the least, especially since Emma had started dating Carl. Needless to say, her newest ritual had kept Emma generally away from anyone that didn't wander into her office, and she had yet to meet the newest staff addition.
Emma finished wiping down the chair and the table before setting her lunch bag down. She pulled out her hand sanitizer, delicately cleaning her hands before sliding her gloves on and pulled her peanut butter and jelly sandwich out of the ziploc bag. She took a bite, chewing exactly forty times before swallowing and repeating the process. She glanced up when she heard footsteps approaching her, half expecting Sue (who was no doubt curious as to why Emma's new schedule interfered with her own to make Emma's life hell,) but she was pleasantly surprised to see someone else. Good, it wouldn't take her very long to finish her sandwich and fruit before going back to her office, and she doubted this woman had any desire to talk to her- most didn't.

Emma was smaller then she had anticipated, like some frail little red headed bird - the kind of creature the coach could easily crush underfoot. Men liked that kind of thing, maybe that's what Schuster had seen in the hand-baggied guidance councillor. Bieste hovered over the woman's table clad in her standard navy tracksuit, lunchtray grasped firmly in her large hands. She hesitated, the staffroom mean-girl exclusion table tactics fresh in her mind.
Bieste, like many others, had been on the hunt for the evasive councillor. No, Sue hadn't driven her to seak professional help - though she'd not deny this was a distinct possibility in future months to come. Bieste had hoped Emma could provide some insight on Schuester's character, as she heard they had been... close. Rather than ask for permission this time, Bieste pulled out a chair opposite Emma and sat down, the seat creaking under the addition of her mass. Her tray settled in front of her, a balanced meal of carbs and protiens in the form of a soup and sanwhich.
"Hey. Don't think we've met. Name's Beiste. B-E-I-S-T-E. It's French. I'm the new coach." She nodded, extending her open hand over thier respective meals. Her brow quirked when she noticed Emma's gloves, but rather then retract her hefty hand, she left it hovering between them.

Emma looked up again, her hazel eyes wide with mild alarm when the other bigger woman stood hovering above her, and she swallowed her bite of sandwich. She tried to remember the last time anyone but Will had sat with her as she watched her set the tray down. Other than Ken, Emma couldn't remember. Well, she should rephrase- the last time someone had sat with her out of their own volition and not because they were short on chairs because of SAT testing.
Unlike Sue and Will, Emma honestly didn't mind Bieste invading her table- she just wondered if this was some cruel joke arranged by Sue as she watched Bieste offer a hand to shake. Most times, Emma found her reputation preceeded her as far as McKinley High was concerned- mysophobes were generally the bruntof a lot of jokes, and Emma had been subjected to just about everyone in the book.
"Um." She said, staring at Bieste's hand for a long moment like it might detach itself from the woman's arm and attack her. There wasn't any real way to say no without seeming rude, something Emma very rarely was. Pale and a little shaken, the redhead held out her own tiny hand and shook Bieste's hand very quickly. "Emma Pillsbury." She said, sliding the glove off of her hand after reclaiming it and pulling out one of her ever-present hand sanitizers, squirting a glob into her hands and massaging it into her skin. It wasn't as good as scrubbing in hot water, but Emma would have to make do for the moment- even though her appetite was now lost, the thought of food nauseated her now that she had been in close contact with another's skin. "Its a pleasure to meet you." She said without any falsity to it, offering her a smile that was sweet, even though she still looked a little green. "Would you like some?" She asked, gesturing to the sanitizer as she added a second glob, as a precaution.
One could never be safe enough around germs.
